Why can't I stick to a diet? Why can't I just stop eating? Why can't I shift the weight? What is wrong with me?
Questions that can drive us crazy! If you are asking yourself these things, then guess what? It is NOT down to laziness, greed or gluttony, it is being huma and it is not your fault!
Excessive weight gain, over eating and eating disorders can be symptoms of much deeper underlying causes such as:
o Emotions, (Happy & Sad) & Stress
o Brain Chemistry
o Medical Condition
We will explain how yo-yo dieting, social media and being constantly told to 'just lose weight' increases the risk of body dysmorphia & actually prevents people from having a healthy relationship with food and their body and how dieting and quick fix solutions can just be just a sticking plaster as they do not always address any underlying root causes of why we eat the way we do and often include addictive food items in them, so will always inevitably fail us, whilst having us believe it's us failing them. Believe us when we say, it's really not you...........it's definitely them!
In this FREE talk with Accredited Food Addiction Coach Sarah, we will explain how it's actually your brain chemistry that is causing the compulsion, not your character, how eating is driven by the primitive, survival part of your brain which can make it as impossible to just stop eating as it to just stop breathing! Why compulsive eating isn't your fault, why we're designed to see food, eat food.
We will explain why the body craves sugar, carbohydrates & how the food industry adds these to ultra processed products so that they actually trigger the pleasure part of your brain, the same part that reacts to opiates, alcohol and nicotine and why quitting these foods can be just as difficult as quitting heroine, drinking or smoking, in fact it can be harder because unlike drugs and alcohol, we can't just stop eating!
Importantly, we'll be ditching the misconceptions, shedding the blame and shame culture and explain how there are proven methods of breaking a food addiction, how we can start retraining our brain, how we can take responsibility, take back control, start making the changes we really want to make and find healthier ways to treat ourselves.
